Coat Mink
A mink coat is an outer garment worn by both sexes and has long sleeves that cover the arm to the wrist and the torso from the shoulder down to the waist. They are usually worn over other clothes as they are specifically designed to keep the body warm when it is cold. However, for others it is just for fashion. Different types of coats that are made from materials like fur or leather, have an opening in the front that can be fastened by zippers, buttons, belts, toggles or a combination of all these.
Fur is mostly considered a women’s attire mainly because it requires special care and men are known to be rugged. Men fur coats were in fashion in the 1940’s. Some are made with well-padded shoulders and a tight waist, reminiscent of the 40’s swing era. They were and still are a good buy and wear especially for the winter. Most men coats that were worn in the mid 20th century are now the most fashionable only with a little modification. Among these, there are also a number of different coats for men available.
Back when coats were first made, it was a general term for all but by early eighteenth century, coats were divided into over coats, undercoats and jackets. They are also worn for different occasions and at particular times of the day.
Another type of outerwear is a leather jacket. They can last very long if taken care of properly. They vary from a softer suede type to full leather, including ones made from the skins of lambs; shearling coats. These jackets come with a variety of colors because of their easy nature to dye. The most popular of these is the jacket that is worn by motorcycle riders which generally comes in a black color and it is durable protecting the wearer from ‘road rash’ in case of accidents and also because it assist against strong wind.
